Whether you are hosting a community event or a workplace Lunch and Learn we can tailor the perfect worm farming session for you, from hands on DIY building sessions to lively talks. We have delivered workshops to over 3,000 people since 2013 from school children to international business leaders; we were born to share the love of worms with you.

Mini Worm Farm Workshop

Build a mini worm farm
Each participant makes a 10 litre worm farm to take home. 1-2 hour workshop includes worms and materials, advice on worm care and a talk on the importance of worms and soil health. No limit to the number of participants, approx 1m2 of tabletop workspace required per participant and supervision for children.

Worm Talk

Discover worm farming
A lively & entertaining introduction to worm farming (or vermiculture) tailored to any age group, including tips for how to start and manage a worm farm for the kitchen, the garden, the classroom, school or community group, or even a small business. Ideal for adult groups, families or supervised children & young people’s groups. Up to 1 hour.

Wheelie Bin Worm Farm Workshop

Convert a wheelie bin into a worm farm
2.5-3 hour workshop onsite at your location for up to 10 participants to up-cycle used wheelie bins into worm farms. Perfect for community groups and for events such as festivals, fetes or open days. Requires tool use - suitable for adult groups or older young people (16+) with adult supervision. We can adapt any bin, new or used.

Community Day

The Urban Worm at your community event
Book The Urban Worm to attend a one day event, includes drop-in information stall, informal discussions on worm farming and a 1-hour mini-worm farm demonstration for a fixed number of participants. Advice on how to make a worm farm, worm care and the importance of worms and soil health.

Train The Trainer

Developing expertise within your community
Tailored to community leaders who may be tasked with developing or supporting worm farms as part of community waste management strategies or toward a greener operation. Use cases include managing food waste in cafeterias, sustainability champions, and composting in community gardens. 1 day workshop.
